Laborers support our infrastructure, and those who work in trades should have our wholehearted support and commendation. Securing widespread access to trade schools is the key to ensuring all Marylanders have the chance to succeed. By investing in training programs, we can provide a way for both students and adults to learn a skill that they can earn a living on.

I plan to advocate for our trade programs by providing a path for our students to enter an apprenticeship program. If we are going to rebuild our infrastructure to be ready for a 21st century market, we will need all the laborers and trade workers we can get. It’s imperative our children are equipped with the skills they’ll need to be successful in the future.

We will fight for the unions that will represent these workers. We will protect the collective bargaining system that has done so much for our working class citizens, and we will continue to fight for their rights. By passing a Public Labor Agreement Law, we can improve our worker’s rights, and strengthen our unions. America was built by unions. Now it’s up to us to help build them.
